Martha Esther Leckie

Martha Esther Leckie, age 80, passed away in Nixa, on December 11, 2012. She was born to Claude and Edna (Harden) McElyea on November 25, 1932, in Matthews, MO. She united in marriage to Earnest Jines in 1948, in Walnut Ridge AR. Shortly after Martha and Earnest moved to Sacramento, CA, where they both started working at Aerojet General Corporation. Martha was a Technical Documentation Librarian for orbital maneuvering systems, for space craft. Martha married Walter R. Leckie in February of 1967. Martha retired in 1984 and moved to Nixa. Martha is survived by her daughter, Pamela Morgan, of Nixa, Rickie Jines, of Nixa, Mark Leckie, and wife Kelly, of Rogersville. Martha is also survived by her brother, M.L. McElyea, of Pine Bluff, AR, and her sister, Mozella Heuring, of Nixa; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earnest, and two brothers, Glenn and Odell McElyea. There will be a private memorial service for the family, in Portageville, MO. Cremation is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
