Therese Riggs, 70, passed away January 2, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri.
Visitation will be held at James River Church (South), the Clark Chapel, in Ozark, MO on January 12, 2012 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. A Memorial service will be held just afterward at 1pm with Pastor Mark Wright of the James River Church officiating. Marlene will be cremated and the ashes will be spread at a location she enjoyed spending time at.
Marlene was born just outside of Munich, Germany on May 11, 1947. She was raised by her mother Ellie and adopted father, John Hitlin. She attended schools in Massachusetts, New York, Virginia and France, eventually receiving a High School General Education Diploma. She also attended classes at Northern Virginia Community College. She worked in numerous jobs that included: culinary, child care, restaurant management, accounting and, most importantly, home maker. She enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
Marlene married the love of her life, John Cecil Riggs, on May 7, 1982; they were married for 35 years.
Marlene is preceded in death by her dad John Hitlin and her grandson Christopher Riggs. She is survived by her husband John; three daughters: Shierine and her husband Martin (Chip) Wood, Teena and her husband Kurt Davis, and Desiree Riggs; her son, John Eskandary and his wife Lora; her grandchildren Alexis Wiley, Julian Riggs, Spencer and Skylar Eskandary, and Bella Davis; her great granddaughter Gracie; mother Ellie Hitlin; three sisters Nancy, Susan and Patricia.
