It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Marlene Ferguson, the beloved matriarch of our family, on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the age of 89. Marlene was a woman of unwavering strength and grace, whose life was a testament to her deep faith, selfless love, and enduring courage.

A devoted follower of Christ, Marlene’s life centered on her unshakeable reliance on Jesus. She cherished her role in serving the Church and found her greatest strength in her faith. Her love for the Lord shone brightly in everything she did, offering comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Marlene’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. She was the glue that held everyone together, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether through her warm embrace, wise counsel, or acts of kindness, she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel deeply loved and cherished.

Her selflessness extended beyond her family to her many dear friends, whom she cared for with the same tender devotion. Marlene had a way of seeing the good in everyone and brought light and joy into every room she entered.

Marlene was a teacher at heart and no doubt impacted countless lives throughout the years. She had her Master’s of Administration in Education and taught elementary school for several years before becoming a Principal. Marlene retired from the Pine Bluff school district and began teaching adjunct classes at Southeast Arkansas Junior College. Through the years, Marlene taught many Sunday school and Bible study classes, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Though she has left this earthly home, Marlene’s legacy of love, faith, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She is survived by her children Rick, Alan, Robbie, and Brenda, her grandchildren Sean, Clay, Josh, Jessica, Amber, Allisonand Tasha, her great grandchildren Christopher, Tonya, Alex,Katelyn, Josh, Justus, Emma, Jacob, Greg, Isaiah, Virgina Kate and Charlie and her great-great grandchildren Georgia, Olivia andElody who will continue to honor her memory by embodying the values she held dear.
