Mark Aaron Houk

Mark Aaron Houk, age 48, was born on September 26, 1966 to Lawrence and Betty Moon. In 1971 he was adopted by his father, Fred Houk. Mark was a driven man and had many accomplishments, including: being a champion power lifter, chess master, and black belt in Judo. He was an avid reader, writer, and a scholar. Mark served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and worked by trade as a Master Technician for Lexus. He loved and continuously strove for truth and understanding in all matters of life. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his parents, Betty and Fred; his mother-in-law, Nancy; his children, Rayna, Michael, and Daniel; his step-children, Joshua, Sativa, Dagan, Sydney, and Chelsea; and a grandson, Jeremiah. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Josiah, Ashley, Jon, Megan, Colin, and Jesse, with whom he had a close relationship and served as a mentor; his brothers and sisters, Julie, Dawn, Kenny, Deborah, Dana, David, and Rachel; and the families of his siblings. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Samuel. Mark was a light to the world. He passed to a higher place on September 15, 2015. A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 5th, at Christ Church Unity 2214 E. Seminole, Springfield. Cremation under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
