Marjorie Covell

Marjorie Covell, age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Nixa, Missouri. She was born to Fla and Hazel (Perreton) Lavelock, July 20, 1925, in Tina, Missouri. Marjorie was united in marriage to Paul Covell, on December 22, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. Marjorie lived in Independence for many years. Marjorie worked for A T & T starting as a telephone operator, and eventually was promoted to the Regional Supervisor of Company Benefits. Marjorie retired in 1984, after 34 years of service. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Marcia Lalumondier, of Kansas City, Missouri, a granddaughter, Monica Dobyns, of Nixa, Missouri, and two great grandchildren, Jade and Olivia Dobyns, of Nixa, Missouri. Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Mervin Lavelock, one sister, Maxine Holt, and a longtime companion, Donald Conway. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Adams Point Convention Center, Blue Springs, Missouri. Cremation is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
