Marilyn Ann White, age 57, of Nixa, passed Friday, August 22, 2014. She was born January 22, 1957, in Springfield, to Don Waggoner Sr. and Ann (Cole) Waggoner. Marilyn married the love of her life, Jeff White, June 4, 1975, celebrating 39 years of marriage. Marilyn was proud of her Native American heritage. She and Jeff were members of the Springfield Native American Council for many years. Marilyn loved butterflies. Her Native American name is Little Butterfly. She loved her family and her grandchildren. Her husband, Jeff, stayed by her side and took care of her until the very end. Marilyn and Jeff are longtime members of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Springfield.
Survivors include: Her husband; her two children Tony White, and his wife Jennifer, of Nixa, and Melissa Hamlin, and her husband Justin, of Oklahoma City; Three grandchildren Megan and Elizabeth Hamlin, and Gage White; and her siblings Don Waggoner Jr. and his wife Penny, of Springfield, Michael Waggoner and his wife Valerie, of Jacksonville, FL, and Karen Gray, and her husband Mike, of Ozark.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 24, 2014 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday August 25, 2014, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield, with Father Tom Reidy officiating.
