Marilyn Kay “Katy” Noe, age 78, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Katy was born December 20, 1942 in Springfield the daughter of Jim and Eva Glossip. On December 2, 1960 she was united in marriage to Gene William Noe.
Katy and Gene owned Gene’s Market and Station in Highlandville for 25 years. She then worked for Empire Bank in Highlandville for 18 years. After Marilyn retired from the bank, she worked for NARTEC, owned by a high school friend, Judy & Afton Ware. She also assisted in the office at the CRS Auction Barn in Highlandville owned by her cousins, Roger and Carolyn Smith.
Katy was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for many years. She had recently been attending the Finley River Cowboy Church and Sac River Cowboy Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gene Noe.
Katy is survived by her daughter; Tracy Greer of Marshfield; a granddaughter, Shelbey Greer and fiancé Austin McGlynn of Seymour; a sister, Susie Bilyeu and husband David of Walnut Shade; a special cousin, Roger Smith and wife Carolyn of Highlandville; her sisters at heart, Rosie Mantle of Nixa and Mary Cummings and husband Jerald of Galena.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Rosie Mantle for being such a good friend to Katy, and for all the help and support you have extended to mom over your many years of friendship. Family would also like to extend a special thank you to her neighbors Dwayne and Tonette Kwiatkowski for their kindness and support. A big thank you is extended to all of the nurses, doctors, and care givers on Floor 3A at Mercy Hospital.
An open house visitation for Katy will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Hartwell officiating. Arrangements and care are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
Private burial will be held at a later date at Highlandville Cemetery.
