Maria Elana Gibbs, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on August 29, 1941, in Rumford, Maine, to Winfield and Colleen Yeaton, Maria grew up with a generous heart and a creative spirit that she carried with her throughout her life.

A talented artist and craftswoman, Maria enjoyed making beautiful blankets, which she lovingly gifted to friends, family, and no-kill animal shelters. Her heart was especially full during the holiday season, when she would dress as Mrs. Claus, adopting families and children to bring warmth and joy through gifts and meals. Her spirit of giving didn’t stop there; she also spread laughter as "Lucky Ladybug" the clown, delighting children and families at birthday parties and community events. Maria found her greatest joy in making others happy, whether through her thoughtful gestures or infectious laughter.

Maria devoted her life to nurturing those around her, both at home and through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. With her warm heart and caring hands, she brought comfort to countless patients, embodying compassion in every interaction. She was deeply involved in her children’s sports and activities, cheering them on from the sidelines and celebrating their accomplishments. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she shared a special bond with each of them.

Known for her stylish flair, Maria was rarely seen without a bit of sparkle. She loved to dress up, often in glamorous outfits and her signature sparkly shoes, ready to take on any adventure. True to the lyrics of the song Gypsy Rose Lee, she had “rings on her fingers and bells on her toes,” always ready to go with a radiant smile and an open heart.

Maria loved out loud, laughed out loud, and prayed out loud, filling every room with her joyous spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and boundless generosity. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Maria is survived by her son Lloyd Gibbs (Amy); daughter Melinda Casarez; grandchildren Hunter Gibbs, Hayden Gibbs, Todd Caloiaro, Kayla Casarez, and Tyler Moore; four great grandchildren.

Maria is preceeded in death by both her parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.  A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
