Margaret Ellen Burns was born on September 10, 1948 in Chicago, Illinios to Carl and Ethel Walter. Margaret passed away on July 1, 2024.
On February 20, 1971, Margaret married Robert Burns, the love of her life. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life full of warmth, joy, and unwavering support for each other and their family.
Margaret was known as the “Mama Bear” of her family, a role she embraced with fierce devotion and love. Her nurturing spirit and protective nature made her a pillar of strength for her loved ones. She was always there with a comforting word, a gentle hug, and an ever-open heart.
Despite being allergic, Margaret had a boundless love for all animals, showing her generous and caring nature. She had a special fondness for butterflies, creatures that symbolize transformation and beauty, much like the way she touched the lives of those around her. Roosters also held a unique place in her heart, their vibrant energy mirroring her own zest for life.
Margaret is survived by her son Timothy Burns and his wife Loretta “Ann” of Ozark; two daughters, Alice Irene Ault and husband David James of Minnesota; Christina Rita Haustein and husband Paul Matthew of Ozark; two grandsons Jesse Bryan and Devon James Richards; brother Carl John Walter; twin cousins Michael and Mary McCormick; and sister-in-law Mary Jaster.
Margaret is preceded in death my her parents Carl and Ethel Walter, step mother Domicella Walter, husband Robert Burns, and brother-in-law Patrick Burns.
A visitation will be Monday July 8, 2024 at 8:00 am at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Private burial will follow at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery, Springfield.
