Marcia June Knight, age 90 of Nixa, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and caregivers March 25, 2024. She was born March 16, 1934 in Grandville, Michigan, the daughter of Arnold and Florence (Schmidt) Reister.
Marcia graduated from high school in 1951 from Grandville High School. In 1955 she graduated from Blogett Memorial Nursing School. Marcia was a life long Lutheran, baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in 1934 in Grandville, Michigan. On November 5, 1955 she was united in marriage to Elwood “Woody” Knight. She worked as a registered nurse for many years. She loved red, white and blue, the USA and Jesus.
Survivors include: her husband, Elwood “Woody” Knight of Nixa; children, Brent Knight and wife Sue, Brad Knight and wife Goy, Brenda Will and husband Joe, and Beth Melgren and husband Eric; grandchildren, Matt Knight and wife Maygen, Tim Knight, Kellie Williams and husband Matt, Jewel Towle and husband Ted, Lindsey Will, Carter Will, Emily Melgren, Adam Melgren, and Ben Melgren; great grandchildren, Devyn Knight, Beckett Knight, Watson Williams, Hudson Williams, Jacob Towle, Mason Towle and Victoria Towle; her brother, Carl Reister and wife Jan, and her brother in law, Al Knight and wife Barb; and many nieces and nephews.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bonnie Duchow and husband Bob and Genese Snyder and husband Buz; and a sister in law Barb Lane and husband Larry.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nixa, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Reverend Jarod Koenig officiating. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran in Nixa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran in Nixa, 911 W. Mt. Vernon St., Nixa, MO 65714 or to Access Hospice, 1741 S. 15th St., Ozark, MO 65721.
