Mamie Blanch Wernink, of Billings, passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born on December 19, 1948, to Millard and Hazel Scott. A graduate of Ozark High School, Mamie married Gene Wernink on May 15, 1970. They shared many wonderful years together before Gene’s passing in 2012.
Mamie found joy in spending time at the lake with her husband, children, and family, especially boating and water skiing. She worked as a waitress at Eat a Bite Café in Ozark, her mother Hazel Scott’s restaurant. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Mamie cherished time with her loved ones.
She was a member of Selmore Christian Church and enjoyed antiquing and watching the Home Shopping Network. Mamie’s kind heart and love for family will always be remembered.
Mamie is survived by: her two sons, Shannon (Barbara) and Bryan Wernink; two sisters May (Larry) Tennis, Ruth Scott; and one grandchild, Isabella Wernink.
Mamie is preceded in death by: her parents, Millard and Hazel Scott; her husband, Darrel Gene Wernink; a brother-in-law, Harvey Meadows.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri. Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
