Luke Madsen

Max Lucas Madsen (Luke), age 71, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. He was born  August 17, 1952 to Max Madsen and Lois Madsen (Lee) in Clinton, Iowa, but grew up in Chagrin Falls, OH. After graduating high school in Richfield, CT, he went to the University of Minnesota (U of MN) where he received two degrees. He worked as a director of Property Accounting for 37 years at the U of MN.

Luke retired and moved to Las Vegas, NV with his wife. He had a lifelong love of music, playing and watching sports, and going to the movies. He had a quick wit, loved being around family, betting on sports, reading, and traveling to historical sites. He was known to his loved ones as Luke, and to his grandchildren as grandpa, Ding Dong, and Punka.

Survivors include: his wife Cheryl Madsen; his children Kelly Lind (Brent), Kristina Lutke (Chad), Robert MacMaster (Heather); his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Hannah, Gavin, Siena, Preston, Drake, Caylin; and his siblings Mark (Melissa), Caren, Sherry, along with multiple nieces and nephews.

The family has chosen to not hold a celebration of life and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/
