Loyal Luther Stewart, age 80 of Ozark, was welcomed into his heavenly home on July 31, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born July 27, 1935 in Ozark, the son of Ralph George and Walsie Barthenia (Brown) Stewart.
Loyal served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On April 18, 1954 he married Donna Jean Melton. Loyal worked as a carpenter for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and eventually retired from the Missouri National Guard 1107th AVCRAD, Springfield, in maintenance security. Loyal was a member of the Ozark First Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna "Jean" Stewart of Ozark; three children, Carl Stewart and wife Tina of Springfield, Sharon Combs and husband Elva of Ozark, Roger Stewart and wife Christine of Republic, a brother, Charles Stewart and wife Helen of Springfield; five grandchildren, Stepfanie Diamond and husband Terry of Ozark, Tyler Combs of Springfield, Hunter Stewart of Republic, Twyla Sawyer of Springfield and Richard Stewart and wife Amy of Springfield; and six great grandchildren.
Loyal was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vinita Williams; two brothers, Clarence Stewart and Pinky Stewart, a child, Tereasa Ann Stewart; and a great grandchild, Troy Allen Stewart.
Loyal was a wonderful husband and a beloved Dad and Pawpa who will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Gary Mitchener and John Comer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Spokane Cemetery, Spokane, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
