Loyal Le Roy Hodges, 72, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away June 26, 2013 after a short unexpected illness.
Loyal was born in Sparta, Missouri, on August 22, 1941. He graduated from Sparta High School and attended Drury University. Loyal served in the United States Navy until 1964 on the U.S.S. Vulcan in Norfolk, Virginia.
Loyal worked for General Electric where he retired after many years of service. He enjoyed traveling, Cardinals baseball, gambling, and especially playing pool at the Southside Senior Center every day. He was an avid listener of all kinds of music; especially that from the 1950"�s and thoroughly enjoyed hours of western themed movies. He had a wicked sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Loyal is survived by his very special friend and companion, Loretta Metscher; his two sons, Kevin Hodges, Michael and Maureen Hodges; two sisters (O"�Dell) Norman Jean Dixon and (Dewey) Millie Neson; two brothers, Marvin (Phyllis) Hodges and Stan (Wanda) Hodges; four grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews; his extended family, Larry and Jeannie Smith; and his precious dogs Ellie and Sammy.
Loyal is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Eileen Hodges.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. on July 2, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery, Sparta, Missouri.
