Louise Hampton, age 90, of Chadwick, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, January 8, 2019. She was born December 17, 1928 in the Mound Community, the daughter of Charlie and Minta (Johnson) Coffer. She was united in marriage to Preston Hampton on August 29, 1946. They continued to live along with their family in the Chadwick area.
Louise loved her family and enjoyed cooking and caring for them. She was an avid gardener, canning her produce each year. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Louise was a member of Highlonesome Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Her husband of 72 years, Preston, presently residing in Ozark Nursing and Care; a daughter, Linda Anderson and husband Jim, of Sparta; two grandsons, Greg Anderson and wife Candace of Chadwick, and Chris Anderson, also of Chadwick; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Britton; a great-great-grandson, Layton Britton; a sister-in-law Linda Spicer; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille House, her brother, Leon Coffer, and her parents.
A visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday, January 13, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Cremation will follow the visitation. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 20, in Hall Cemetery at Mound in Douglas County, with Pastor Bally Johnson and Jeff Coffer officiating.
