Louise Burk

Louise Burk, age 86, a lifelong resident of Highlandville, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019. She was born September 29, 1932, the daughter of Lonnie and Jessie (Essick) Grider. In 1948 she and Donald Lee Burk were united in marriage. Louise was a homemaker, raising her children, and taking care of others needing help. She had a big heart to include family and many friends. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, and gardening when she was able. Was a member of First Central Baptist Church at Green Mound. Her husband, Donald preceded her in death in 2005, as well as two brothers, Paul Grider and wife Pauline, and Floyd Grider, a brother in law, Benny Winslow, and her parents. Survivors include: five children, Jack Burk and wife Cindy of Sparta, Larry Burk of Highlandville, Donna Pfister and husband Jerry of West Plains; Carol Nelson of Highlandville, and Cheryl Johnson of Ozark; 12 grandchildren, Traci, Amy, Joni, Brad, Jamie, Amanda, Lacie, Melanie, Greg, Josh, Tyler, and Courtney; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lula Belle Winslow of Ozark; other relatives and many friends. In accordance with her wishes, Louise will be cremated, and a private family gathering is planned. Cremation is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
