Louise Brucks, age 83, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, May 30, 2012. She was born to Moses and Allah Mae (Swezzey) Utnage, August 19, 1928, in St. Louis, MO. She was united in marriage to Charles Brucks October 15, 1949. Louise was a wonderful mom and home maker while her children were growing up. In 1984, she graduated from St. Mary"�s Hospital College of Nursing, in St. Louis and started her career as a nurse. Louise loved her husband Charles deeply and took care of him when he became disabled at age 49, until his passing, at age 63. The highlight of Louise"� life was her children and her grandchildren. She had a great hunger for knowledge and read constantly. She was especially interested in ancient artifacts of Native Americans. Louise loved to sing, and has sang in many church services and cantatas. Her family says she was a great cook and baker. No one could beat her warm German potato salad, or her cinnamon rolls. She loved to travel and has traveled to Europe, Canada, Hawaii, and other spots on the globe. Her family describes her as a very intelligent, loving and caring person. She will be greatly missed. Louise is survived by her children, Phil Brucks, and wife Dorothy, of Nixa, Carol Gettemeier, and husband Dan, of Florissant, Katherine Messmer, and husband Tom, of House Springs, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Louise is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, in Nixa. Funeral services will be June 1, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Nixa. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
