Lorene Workman, age 96, of Ozark, passed away in her home Sunday, January 28, 2018. She was born June 14, 1921 in Chadwick, the daughter of Henry and Ethel (Andrews) Hughes. She lived in a log cabin as a youngster and enjoyed activities such as going to the creek to fish with her hands. As a young child she played music with her brothers and sisters, and later with her own husband and family. She was united in marriage to Leslie Ward Workman. Lorene was a very talented homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, was a seamstress, and no one could pass up her cooking, especially her delicious chocolate pies.
Lorene was baptized at an early age in Swan Creek. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and just enjoying nature.
Survivor include: Two children, Janice Carol Workman of Clearwater, Florida, and Randy Workman and wife Kathy of Ozark; three grandchildren, Missy Harlin and her husband Chris of Gainesville, MO and their daughters Abbi and Faith, Jafey Workman and his wife Donna of Ozark and his son Kyle, and Aaron Workman and his wife Jessica of Gainesville, MO and their daughters, Isabelle and Bonnie Mae.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Ward in 1986, and her brothers and sisters.
A celebration of life service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mercy Hospice.
