Lorene Greenway, age 88, of Ponce de Leon, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013. She was born September 3, 1924, in Elsey, Missouri, one of 10 children of Loren and Charity (King) Grisham. On January 26, 1943, she and Orville "Bo" Greenway were united in marriage. Lorene was a homemaker and farmed alongside her husband. She also had worked for the Galena School District in the cafeteria. Known for her cooking, many delicious meals were served in Stone County from Lorene's kitchen. She was dedicated to her family, and there are so many that will miss her deeply. Survivors include: six children and their spouses, Ruby and John Metcalf of Nixa, Roy and Lora Greenway of Crane, Lonnie and Susan Greenway of Galena, Beckie and Bruce Aschwege of Galena, Donnie and Ruby Greenway of Nixa, and Sharon and Roger Melton of Highlandville; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Cruce of Wichita, Kansas, and Betty Lee Crumbliss of Huntsville, Arkansas; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bo in 2004, a daughter Shirley Bowling, six sisters, Helen, Ruth, Alice Auda, Edith and Hazel, a brother, Sonny, and her parents. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 28 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in Bowling Chapel Cemetery, Crane. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
