Lora Lee Hawkins, age 92 of The Baptist Home, Ozark, Missouri, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014.
She was born to Rev. Clarence Ethel and Vina Amanda Goodnight on October 14, 1921 in Pineville, Missouri.
The Goodnight family lived in several communities in Missouri and Lora Lee finished her high school education in Helena, Missouri.
She married Eugene B. Hawkins in 1944. After he was discharged from the service, they lived and worked in St. Joseph, Missouri. Upon retirement they relocated to Merriam Woods, Missouri, and eventually to The Baptist Home in Ozark.
Lora Lee worked 36 years for the F.W. Woolworth Company in St. Joseph. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth, Missouri.
Lora Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Branson Hawkins; two sisters, Yvonne Ramsey and husband Orlan and Vivian Price and husband Charles; and two brothers, Clarence Junior and Larry Lathom.
Lora Lee and Gene had no children but are survived by Lora Lee's sister, Lucille Whitman, Savannah, Missouri; fifteen nieces and nephews, and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 15, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM on Saturday until service time. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
