Lonnie Otto Thompson, age 79, of Bruner, passed away in his home August 7, 2015. He was born February 15, 1936 in Bruner, where he continued to live throughout his life. Lonnie was a truck driver, operated his farm in Bruner, and did custom farming. As a truck driver Lonnie traveled to every state in the lower 48. Lonnie had also worked at Ozark Farm Supply for several years. When time permitted, Lonnie hunted and fished. One of his greatest joys was sitting on his back porch, relaxing and enjoying his favorite oak tree. He also enjoyed gospel music, and spent many hours watching Daystar TV.
A Christian by faith, Lonnie attended several churches, most recently New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his children, Danny Thompson of Bruner, Elizabeth Ann Thompson of Cross Timbers, Loni Ann Reed of Oldfield, Stacey Leigh Adams and husband Ronnie of Bruner, Heather Lea Demery of Bentonville, AR, and Bernie Thompson of Ozark; ten grandchildren, Crystal Thompson, Marc Thompson, Jennifer Polaski, Wyatt Reed, Seth Reed, Ashley Fisher, Sidnei Garringer, Cheyenne Weter, Breann Demery, and Bella Demery, seven great-grandchildren Aiden Thompson, Jaiden Davis, Damien Thompson, Diana Almazyed, Payton Fisher, Riley Fisher, and Johnse Reed; a sister, Nadine Mitchell of Springfield; a good friend Dewey Lassley; nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ralph Thompson, Ollie Faye Miller, Rex Thompson, and Virgie Rippee, his wife Rose Marie, a daughter-in-law, Diane Thompson, and his parents Alva and Vida Thompson.
A graveside funeral will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 11, in Bruner Cemetery, with Pastor Alan Maggard officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
