Lois E. Bertermann, age 96, of Nixa, Missouri, formerly of Bay City, MI, went quietly to Heaven November 27, 2016. She was born June 8, 1920 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of George Harold Propp and Lina (Adolphs) Propp. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. In 1944 she and Martin Bertermann were married.
Lois was a teacher, and later became a social worker for Lutheran Children's Friend Society of Michigan. Because of her love for children, she continued as an adoption social worker until the age of 80. Lois was blessed with rock solid faith, and passed this along to her children.
During her 50 years in Bay City, she was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included gardening and music.
Survivors include: Two daughters, Monica Parsch of Nixa, MO, and Claudia Keller and husband Joseph of Lillian, AL; a daughter-in-law, Joan Bertermann of Bloomington, IN; eight grandchildren, Mark Parsch, Michael Parsch and wife Jennifer, Erik Bertermann, Peter Bertermann, Paul Bertermann and wife Madeline, David Roulo and Carolyn, Anne Roulo, and Kristine Rabel and husband Stephen; and four great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by: Her husband, Martin in 1972; her son, Jonathan Bertermann in 2014; a son-in-law, Daniel Parsch; and a sister, Winifred Fleter.
A graveside memorial service will be at a later date in Floral Gardens Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan. Local arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, MO.
