Linda Juanice Surface

Linda Juanice Surface, 74, of Ozark, passed away September 1, 2024. She was born in Houston, Texas, February 6, 1950. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, her father, Edward J. Parrott, mother, Valera Chromcak and her husband George and one daughter, Melody Joy. Linda married the love of her life, Melvin, on Aug. 26, 1967.

 A lifelong Christian, Linda was a loving and devoted pastor’s wife, supporting Melvin in ministry with the Assemblies of God for over 50 years. A gifted musician, she played the piano and organ and ministered through song. Linda was a home maker and also worked in numerous office roles including switchboard operator, receptionist, and secretary. Over the years she was employed by several Assemblies of God ministries including: the Southern Missouri District, North Texas District, Assemblies of God National Office and Southwestern Assemblies of God University. 

Linda enjoyed shopping, traveling with Melvin, and spending time with friends and family.  

Linda is survived by one son and his spouse: Keith and Melanie Surface of Ozark; four grandchildren: Maegan (Cole) Knight of Bolivar, Missouri, Amy, Kimberlee, and Simeon Surface of Ozark; one special sister, Joyce Ross of Alvin, Texas; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. 

 A special thanks to the staff of Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehab, who lovingly cared for Linda over the last five years, as well as Bobbie Meese, who was a constant source of help, volunteering her time at Magnolia and bringing Linda special gifts. 

 In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the mission's fund of Linda’s home church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home in Ozark, Missouri, with Dr. Al Crane officiating.  Burial will follow at Selmore Cemetery in Ozark, Missouri.  Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
