Linda Kay Schnur

January 12, 1943 — April 10, 2025

Nixa

Linda Kay Schnur, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 12, 1943, in Colorado to William and Minnie Churches, Linda lived a vibrant, faith-filled life, bringing joy, laughter, and love to all who knew her.

From a young age, Linda’s adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors shone brightly—especially when she was riding horses or enjoying nature. She graduated from Golden High School in Golden, Colorado, and later pursued her deep faith by attending and graduating from Moody Bible Institute in 1964, where she played on the basketball team.

That same year, on November 27, she married, Anthony Schnur. Together, they shared a beautiful life built on love, laughter, and strong faith until Anthony's passing in 2018. Their bond was evident to all, and their home was a place of warmth and welcome.

Linda was a devoted Christian whose relationship with the Lord guided every step of her journey. Her quick wit, sweet nature, and enthusiasm for life made her the heartbeat of every gathering. She was always ready for the next adventure—whether that meant camping under the stars, casting a line into the water, or hitting the road on a spontaneous trip.

A true sports fan, Linda rooted faithfully for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Denver Broncos and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. She even played adult soccer, showcasing her competitive streak and zest for life.

Linda’s talents were many—she taught elementary school with kindness and patience, loved to crochet, and was known far and wide for her delicious chili. Her 4th of July parties was legendary, with laughter ringing through the yard, her washing machine cleverly filled with ice and sodas for all to enjoy. She had a way of making every event feel special, and every person feel like family.

She was a collector of rocks and seashells, a traveler at heart, and above all, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart into every moment she shared with them.

Linda leaves behind a legacy of faith, fun, and fierce love—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all those blessed to have known her.

Her light was bright, her laughter contagious, and her love enduring. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Linda is survived by one son; Curt Schnur; two daughters, Mindy (Tim) Bankson, Carrie Schnur; five grandchildren, Stacy, Cayla, Timothy, Kurt, Alyssa; two greatgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews; best friends, Carolyn (Charles) Fuller, Joanne (Jerry) Vadeen.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Willam and Minnie Churches; her husband, Anthony Schnur; two brothers, Kenny Churches, Georgie Churches and one sister, Dorothy Roberts.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri and cremation rites accorded by Adams Crematory.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; among the peoples! Sing to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered. Psalm 105:5

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4
