Lester Roosevelt Richardson "Pete" age 91, of Ozark, MO passed away Friday, August 5, 2016. He was born in Union Arkansas (along with his twin brother Ester) on February 14, 1925 to parents Willie and Fannie Richardson (Blevins). He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Nola Jean Plumb on October 5 1957. For the next 59 years they never left each other's side without a kiss goodbye and always sealed their return with a kiss hello.
Lester held down many jobs through the years including being a tire repairman at Firestone, building furniture at Leggatt and Platt and being the janitor of Ozark Elementary School. For years after he left the school, kids would see him in town and yell "Hi Pete".
His greatest accomplishments include being a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend to those who were lucky enough to know him. His pastimes included many hours of reading his Bible, working in the garden, helping his wife babysit, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Fannie, by two sisters Lisle "Pat" and Gertrude "Tony", by five brothers, Thurlo, Ray, Ester, Harold and Henry.
Survivors include his wife Nola Jean, his sister Louise Johnson of California, children Caven, Verlon, Ivan and, Tammy. Grandchildren, Nikki, Abby, Lisa, Crystal, Lydia, Eli and Fannie. Great grandchildren Colton, Jeremiah and Ashton. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service with full military honors will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Prospect Baptist Church, Ozark. Inurnment will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 15, 2016 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
