Lesley Gene Pryor

Lesley Gene Pryor, age 84, of Nixa, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017. He was born February 25, 1932 in Carthage to John and Sarah Pryor. He, along with his twin, were the youngest of 13 children. He graduated from high school at School of the Ozarks. Lesley served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. On September 25, 1953 he and Doris Lea Shumate were united in marriage. Church was a large part of Lesley's life. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church in Springfield where he served as deacon. He had also taught Sunday school for many years. Lesley was employed by Springfield City Utilities for 40 years before retirement. Survivors include: His wife, Doris; two daughters, Debbie Gilmore and husband Jeff of Nixa, and Dianna Edwards of Nixa; six grandchildren, Erin Gilmore, Zachary Gilmore, Jordan Gilmore, Joshua Edwards, Courtney Edwards, and Randy Edwards; and a sister, Marcella. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday.
