Leona Ewing Russell, age 88 of Ozark, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016. She was born June 13, 1928 in Keltner, Missouri, the daughter of Chester Lee and Goldie (Pruett) Coffer.
Leona married Samuel Ewing in 1948. To this union, five children were born. Samuel preceded Leona in death in 1974. In 1980, Leona married Ray Russell. Ray preceded Leona in death in 2008.
Leona was also preceded in death by her parents; and a son, David Ewing.
Leona was a homemaker and member of Highlonesome Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls, attending garage sales, and sewing.
Survivors include: her children, Kathy Herd and husband Joe, Johnny Ewing and wife Ruth, Donnie Ewing, Linda Scobee and husband Mitch and Karen Gann; 16 grandchidlren, 13 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Highlonesome Cemetery, Oldfield. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday immediately before the funeral in the funeral home.
