Lawrence (Larry) F Long passed away after a brief illness on May 20th in Springfield, Missouri. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 6th, 1943. He was the son of Clifford and Isabelle Long of Kansas City.
Larry married his true love, Martha Herron of Courtland, Mississippi and they were married for fifty-two years. Larry attended Lillis High School and Westport High School. He attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Larry served his country in the U.S. National Guard. He worked for Hallmark Card and Standard Fruit and Steamship Company. While living in Memphis, he was the owner of a custom frame shop.
As a youth Larry was an excellent baseball player. but his true passion was fishing. His other pastimes included Notre Dame football, playing bridge, chess and woodworking.
Larry leaves his wife Martha, his sister, Carole Werner-Thompson of Temecula, California, his brother John Long of Olathe, Kansas and his dear friend Jim Hansen with whom he and Martha spent many Sunday afternoons playing Tripoley
Larry attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
A private celebration of life will be held.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory and arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
