Larry Elmer Melton

Larry Elmer Melton, age 67, of Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Highlandville, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013. He was born February 13, 1946, the son of Harvey Elmer and Opal (Magers) Melton. In 1964 he graduated from Spokane High School. Larry served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years, and spent the rest of his working career as a truck driver. Survivors include: A sister, Betty Melton of Highlandville; two brothers, Joe Melton and wife Inna Faye of Highlandville, and Billy G. Melton of Quitman, Arkansas; and a step-daughter, Amanda Valdez of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Rex Melton and Dennis Melton. Funeral services will be 12:30 PM , Wednesday, Nov. 27, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Gary Robertson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 until service time on Wednesday.
