Kevin Dale Yates

Kevin Dale Yates, age 53, of Springfield passed away Friday, March 1, 2019. He was born in Carthage, Missouri, November 14, 1965 to William and Sue (Terril) Yates. Kevin graduated from Kennedy High School in La Palma, California. Shortly after graduating high school, Kevin moved to South Carolina, and then to Missouri. He began his truck driving career in 1994 with Swift Trucking, then D & D Trucking, and was with Prime Trucking for many years. He received a 1,000,000 miles safety award and the On Time service ring. Kevin enjoyed NASCAR racing and Hockey. His favorite team was the Los Angeles Kings. Kevin was in the DeMolays and was a member of the Friend Masonic Lodge 352 in Ozark. He is the fourth generation Mason in his family. Kevin was a good man, had a heart of gold and loved children. Kevin is survived by his parents, aunts Connie Yates Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Sarah Yates Biles, her husband Larry of Manhattan, Kansas, Joan Geary of McCune, Kansas and Margaret Seifert, her husband Loyal of Osage City, Kansas; an uncle Gary Wayne Yates, his wife Cindy of Nixa; and many cousins. Kevin is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; two aunts Charlene Yates McDaniel and Sherry Yates Vaughn. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2019 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in the funeral home.
