Judith "Judy" Rose Buford Blake, age 77, of Nixa, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015.
She was born November 23, 1937, in Ellington, MO. She married Clyde L Blake March 15, 1969. Judy was a high school English teacher for 20 years, teaching in Ellington and at Northwest High School in House Springs, MO. She lived a full and wonderful life of service to her Lord and Savior. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; her sister, Roberta Buford Shaver; her parents, John V and Golda M (Neely) Buford; her grandparents, Senator Carter M and Carrie (Copeland) Buford, and Samuel A and Clara B (Hargrove) Neely.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth "Betsy" Blake and grandson Zachary Blake Wells of Ozark; brothers Byron DeForest and wife Wanda; John S Buford and wife Donna; step-daughters Deedra "DeeDee" Clay and husband Vic, Charlotte "Tudie" Avett and husband Rich; step-son Donald "Tig" Blake and wife Kelly; Grandchildren Chris Clay, Kevin Clay, Anna Showalter, Tracy Blake, Travis Blake, Todd Blake, Katie Davis, 20 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, 6 to 8 pm, Monday. Also a visitation will be in Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill, MO
