Juanita Collins

Juanita Collins, age 87, of Nixa, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011. She was born August 21, 1924, at Mound in Douglas County, the daughter of William Wesley and Ota Elizabeth (Pruitt) Hawkins. She was united in marriage to Thomas Allen Collins, who preceded her in death in 1973. Juanita worked at Collins Market in Ozark, and was a bookkeeper for her husband at Skelly Oil Company. She loved her family, and always enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter. Juanita was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Shelley Collins; her granddaughter, Stacey Collins; and sister, Dorothy Wallace, all of Nixa; nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Roscoe Hawkins, Madeena Bray, Ruth Hursh, and Raymond Hawkins, and her parents. A graveside funeral will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 31, at Selmore Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
