Joyce Elyse Branstetter, age 63, of Ozark, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 succumbing to a long time battle with mental illness. She was born June 11, 1955 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Alfred and Lucille (Bybee) Breshears. As a child she enjoyed attending the church her grandfather pastored. The family moved to Preston, MO in 1970, and later to Weaubleau, where Joyce graduated from High School in 1973. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from SMS in Springfield. In 1980 she and Steven Wayne Branstetter were married. Together they raised two children. Joyce was a Real Estate Agent, most recently for Murney Associates Realtors.
Joyce was a charter member of Ozark First Freewill Baptist Church where she had been a faithful member for 25 years. She loved to help people anyway she could and taught a children's Sunday School class for a period of time. Joyce loved the Lord.
She enjoyed watching her grandson play baseball, taking him to the racetrack in Wheatland, and watching basketball on TV. She loved her family and spending time with them was her priority. Joyce was a friend to everyone she met.
Survivors include: Two children, Heather Holland and husband Josh of Nixa, and Stephen Branstetter II and wife Amanda of Ozark; grandchildren, Landon, Harper and Hudson Holland; her father Alfred Breshears and wife Mary; a sister, Judy Mawhiney and husband Richard of Willard and niece Paige; a brother Jeff Breshears and wife Sally of Batavia, IL and nephews Brett, Jack, and Nicholas; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lucille Breshears and Steven Branstetter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will be 4:00 PM Saturday in Spring Branch Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Avery, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, July 27, in the funeral home.
