Joy Myrtle Burk was born on August 26, 1934 in Stone County, Missouri on the family farm just outside of Ponce de Leon.
In 1952, at the age of 17, she married her childhood sweetheart, JC Bradford and had two sons, Rick Bradford and Mark Bradford.
In 1957 she began working at Lily Tulip in Springfield Missouri. In 1971 she left Lily Tulip and started working at Nixa Bank (now Central Bank) in Nixa. Missouri where she retired in 1997. Singing and witnessing for Christ were her lifelong passions. For her entire life she attended Ponce Pentecostal Church and led singing and worship from the early 1960's until 2014.
She is survived by her son Mark Bradford, granddaughter Wendy Bradford, great grandsons Kyle Eutsler and Kody Eutsler, great-great-granddaughter, Sutton Eutsler, sister Eleanor (Trussalo) Roller, brother-in-law Ralph Bradford, sisters-in-law Dorthy Burk and Leta Bradford.
She is preceded in death by Her husband JC Bradford, son Rick Bradford, brothers Breen and Howard Burk, and her parents Edward James and Florence Idell Burk.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday, April 8, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in Ponce Pentecostal Church, with Rev. Gayle Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Ponce de Leon Cemetery.
