Josephine Howard

Sarah Josephine "Jo" Howard, age 93, of Nixa, passed away December 25, 2018. She was born June 7, 1925 in the Craig Hollow Community. She was saved at the age of 14 in Highlandville. She graduated from Highlandville High School May 15, 1946 and on August 15, 1946 married Huston Howard at Selmore. Jo and Huston were married 59 years before his death. She was a member of Craig Hollow Christian Union Church where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years. Jo was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lloyd "Add" Tennis and Beatrice (Brown) Tennis; a sister, Opal Davis and two brothers, John Tennis and Orville Tennis. Survivors include: a daughter, Sharon Winzeler and husband Steve of Nixa, MO; two grandsons and their wives, Michael and Arianna of Nixa, and Daniel and Ashley Winzeler of Springdale, AR; great-grandchildren, Kalli and Makayla Winzeler of Nixa, and Cohen and Adalyn Winzeler of Springdale, AR; a host of nieces and nephews as well as friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 30, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in Jones-Chastain Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home.
