Joseph F. Meyer

Joseph F. Meyer, age 88 of Springfield, passed away November 21, 2016 in Springfield. Joe was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Frank and Marie Meyer on June 10, 1928. He graduated from Marquette in 1947. He married the love of his life, Mildred Herda, on September 13, 1948 in St. Martins, Wisconsin. He worked as a self-entrepreneur and dabbled in the stock market for many years. Joe was a member of Knights of Columbus, and a member of the school boards, always being involved in the children's lives. Joe is survived by his wife Mildred; children, Gregg of Nevada, Kathy of Ozark, Michael of California, Thomas of Springfield and wife Susan, Mary of Ozark, and Nancy of Ozark and husband Scott. Joe is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or Catholic charities. The family of Joe Meyer wishes to extend our sincere thanks to ManorCare, Good Shepard Hospice, and to all his friends and family for their prayers and support. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Immaculate Conception Church, Springfield. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Weaver Cemetery, Ozark. Cremation under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
