Joseph Hickey

Joseph Leon Hickey, age 60, of Nixa, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017. He was born January 21, 1956 in Indiana. Joseph served his country in the U.S. Navy for fourteen years as an electrician. He later worked for NASCO as an electrician in California Shipyards. On August 21, 1978 he and Debra Annette Cardwell were married. She preceded him in death in 2013. His mother, Lorana Taylor also preceded him in death. Joseph was a member of First Baptist Church, Ozark. He enjoyed target shooting and remote control cars. Joseph collected movies and reel to reel music. He loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed being a part of their lives. Survivors include: His son, James Hickey and wife Jennifer of Nixa; grandchildren, Gage, Scott, Ashley and Olivia; and four sisters, Risa, Sherrie, Terrie, and Sarah. A graveside funeral will be 1:00 PM January 17, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
