Johnny Oran Walker

Johnny Oran Walker was born on March 15, 1928 in Chadwick, Missouri to William and May (Alcorn) Walker.

At the age of 17 he met his future wife, Georgetta Haas on a Chadwick school bus. He and Georgetta, the love of his life were married June 30th, 1947. The couple moved to California for work in the early years of marriage.

In 1956 they moved to the 80 acre farm at Ponce de Leon, Missouri, where they raised their four children - Dale, Loretta, Rowland and Juanita. It was here they put down roots and lived for the past 69 years. With God as their guide, they were blessed with 77 years of marriage, four children and their spouses, twenty grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Johnny's strong faith in God and serving in the local church was vital to him. He recently attended Ponce Pentecostal Church. Johnny's family was a priority to him. He was a carpenter for many years. After retiring, he loved making toys for his grandchildren. Johnny was a farmer to the fullest. His favorite times were on the tractor raking hay. He loved the outdoors, taking care of his cattle and farming with his faithful dog Queenie by his side. He loved gardening and hunting. Johnny loved life and family to the fullest.

He is survived by his son Dale and Linda Walker, daughter Loretta and Larry Call, son Rowland and Donna Walker, daughter Juanita and Jim Coffelt; nieces Linda Philipian, Darlene Engelke, Elsie Colvard; grandchildren, Regina Hurt, Marquita Walker, Bradley Walker, Katrina and Eric Hicks, Angeletta and Merle Strohm, Jesse and Rebecca Call, Samuel and Melinda Call, Caleb and Hannah Call, Serena and Justin Woods, Sarah Walker, Dusty Walker, Jonathan and Christina Walker, Steven and Danni Walker, Mathew Walker, Shawna and Bear Sartin, Rhonda and Joe Holland, Tonya and Sim Nelson, Makayla Coffelt; great grandchildren Haley Hurt, Laken Hopkins, Moriah Call, Benjamin Call, Charity Call, Joshua Call, Rachel Call, Jacob Call, Andrew Call, Elizabeth Call, Evangeline Call, Autumn Strohm, Landon Strohm, Natalie Woods, Kinsey Doyle, Livia Doyle, Stella Woods, Parker Woods, Joseph Walker, Owen and Hayley Walker, Wyatt and Hailie Walker, Gavin Walker, Hunter Walker, Oliver Walker, Cameron Sartin, Cooper Sartin, Reid Sartin, Audrey Holland, Joey Holland, Clayton Nelson, Rowdy Nelson, Allie Nelson; great great grandchildren Harmony Walker, Julian Walker.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Georgetta Walker; his parents William and Mary Walker; his brothers Earl and Lloyd, his sisters Mabel and Hazel; his parents; granddaughter Kasandra Walker, grandson Jeremiah Walker, and a great granddaughter Micah Walker. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Gayle Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery, Highlandville. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. immediately before the funeral at the funeral home.
