Johnny William Morgan, age 77 of Sparta, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015, in his home where he had lived for the past 37 years. He was born July 11, 1937 in Chadwick, the son of George and Leona (Clevenger) Morgan.
On March 31, 1962 he and Louise Kathleen Hull were united in marriage.
Johnny worked at Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. Then he came back to Missouri and worked as a union carpenter. Johnny enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and especially coon hunting. He was a member of Bruner Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Louise; five children, Sarah Morgan, Stanley Morgan and wife Kerry, Sonie Kinyon, Scott Morgan, Sally Morgan and Donny Baker; a brother, Donald Wayne Morgan and wife Roseanne, three sisters, Marie Winans, Anna Mae Fletcher, and Martha Jessup, 17 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Effie Mapes and Nancy Beshirs; two brothers, Ralph Morgan and Floyd "Dinger" Morgan; four brothers in law, R.J. Mapes, Paul Beshirs, Floyd Fletcher, and Elvin Winans; a sister in law, Delia Morgan; a son, John William Morgan; and a grandchild, Baby Losh.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Alan Maggard officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
