John Jay Chapman

John Jay Chapman, age 78, of Nixa, died in his home Monday, March 11, 2024.  He was born September 10, 1945, in Springfield, the son of Jay and Ethel (Marsh) Chapman.  

John joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as a helicopter mechanic.  He was later employed 32 years for Burlington-Northern Railroad.

Survivors include:  His wife, Janice; children, Lynn Wolf and Donald, and Dawn Kramer and Joe; grandchildren, Ryan, Nick, Jessie, and John; step-daughter, Rona Downs and Mark; and step-granddaughter, Sydney Downs.  His parents preceded John in death as well as a sister, Marsha Chapman.

In accordance with John's wishes no formal service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, and Adams Crematory.
