John H. Gimlin, age 75, of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, in his home. He was born December 5, 1935 in Christian County, Missouri, the son of John David and Verna Mae (Grimm) Gimlin. John graduated from Ozark High School in 1954. He married Wynema Yvonne Groves on December 5, 1954. John loved his work on the farm, and enjoyed his horses and gardening. John loved his Lord and lived his life as a God-fearing man. Survivors include: two sons, Tony and wife Lindy, Ozark and Truitt and wife Stacey, Ozark; four grandchildren, John C. Gimlin and wife Sara, Brian Gimlin and wife Jackie, Bailey Gimlin and Clayton Gimlin, all of Ozark; seven great grandchildren, Tatum, Havannah, Anthony, Jaden, Lydia, Adalyn and Macie; three honorary children, David Johns, Troy Bowline, and Lola Haskins-Ryan; two sisters, Bonnie Bilyeu, Ozark, and Geraldine Smith, Sheridan, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife, Wynema, in 2005, five brothers and a sister. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, August 6, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Darrel Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in Spokane Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday in the funeral home.
