John "Jack" Palmer Crouch, 96 went to his heavenly home on July 17, 2016. Jack was born April 3, 1920, in Nashville, Missouri the son of Arch and Seneseny Crouch.
Jack married Shirley Mary Stepp in 1947 and they had two daughters, Linda Dianne and Carol Susan. They lived in St. Louis until they retired to the Lampe, Missouri area.
Jack grew up in Pittsburgh, Kansas where he attended Pittsburg State College, later graduating from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jack attended graduate school at St. Louis University. Jack served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp from 1944-1946. He began his career at McDonnell Douglas in 1942 and worked as a design engineer in the aerospace program where he worked on the Mercury and Gemini space projects and missile defense. In the late 1970's he retired to the Table Rock Lake area where he enjoyed fishing.
Jack is survived by his two daughters, Linda and husband Russ Scheidler, and Carol and husband Stephen Scott, two granddaughters, Beth and husband Jim Craver, and Megan and husband Ryan Kaberline, three great grandchildren, Samuel, Miaya, and Hayden, and one sister, Bonnie Bartell.
Jack was a compassionate man who would help anyone. He was a joy to be with, singing and playing his harmonica in his later years. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
