JoElla Pierce, age 90, of Ozark, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was born July 16, 1921, in Ozark, the daughter of J.N. and Bessie (Russell) Chaffin. On July 25, 1944 she and C.E. "Gene"� Pierce were united in marriage. JoElla taught second grade before she and Gene owned and operated Pierce Department Stores in Forsyth and Ozark. She was active in PTA in Forsyth, both on the local and state levels. JoElla was a hospice volunteer. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Ozark. Survivors include: Two children, Belinda Moore and husband Ernie, Ozark, and C.E. "Pat"� Pierce, Pacheco, California; grandchildren, Mike Moore and wife Marie, Charlotte, North Carolina, Eric Moore and fianc�e Chelly Sepulveda, Newport Beach, California, and Niki Mueller, Nixa; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Carter Moore, Madeline and Megan Sepulveda, Katelynn Maxey, and Grace and Isaiah Mueller; a brother Kenneth Chaffin and wife Darlyne, Ozark; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Chaffin, Republic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, in 2003. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Chaffin and Russell Chaffin, and her parents. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 14, at Southside Church of Christ, Ozark. Burial will follow in Hopedale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time on Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
