JoAnn Burud

On Friday, November 13th 2020, JoAnn Dorothy Burud, loving sister, wife, mother, Nana, great grandmother and friend passed away at the age of 83. JoAnn was born on July 16th, 1937 in Fargo, ND. She enjoyed time with her 3 siblings Laurie, Sheri, & Diane. On June 6th, 1958 she married the love of her life Ordean Burud. They raised 3 beautiful children together, Dean, Julie and Nancy in the St. Louis area. JoAnn had a personality that lit up any space she was in. She enjoyed long summer days at the Lake of the Ozarks with all her family around her. You could often find her walking Diva, purchasing name brand purses, making cookies, or beating anyone who would take her on in Scrabble. She was known for having an ever welcoming and warm personality, delegating tasks to younger ‘strong legged' family members, and quality testing every family dinner before it was served. JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Ordean and sister Diane, she is survived by her 2 sisters Sheri and Laurie, her 3 children and their spouses Dean & Gwenn, Julie & Dan and Nancy & Steve, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Nana will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 17, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A celebration of life will follow. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, at a later date. Memorial donations in JoAnn's name may be made to Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
