James Thomas Lisenby

            James Thomas "Jim" Lisenby, age 88 of Nixa, died September 23, 2022.  He was born May 24, 1934 in his family’s house in Willard, the son of Bryan and Hattie (Swinney) Lisenby.

            On June 13, 1954, Jim was united in marriage to Nina Jo (Shipman). Nina preceded Jim in death August 13, 2016.

Jim was retired from the automotive industry. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. 

Jim is survived by his daughter Kristi Romines and husband Robert of Nixa; granddaughter Kayla Simpson and husband Cody of Tennessee; great grandson, Roland Simpson and great granddaughter Stella; daughter, Janna Schade of Reno, Nevada; grandson, Connor Zamora; two sisters, Katy Walch of Texas and Fran Vick and husband Dick of Texas; and his beloved dog and special friend, “Elmo”; and a host of other family and friends. 

            In addition to his wife, Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Lisenby and John Lisenby; and a grandson, Zachary Zamora.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Hosea Bilyeu officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Cemetery, near Willard. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. immediately before the funeral in the funeral home.
