Jim D. Harrington

Jim D. Harrington of Nixa went to Heaven, Thursday morning July 6, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born October 25, 1931 to Frances and Dale Harrington. Jim is survived by Alice, his wife of seventeen years; three sons and their wives, Jimmy Don and Dixie, Tim and Ali, and Patrick and Kim, all of Springfield; a sister, Carolyn Poole of Springfield; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; four bonus children, Teresa and Mike Hardin, Alison and Ted Steele, Larry and Laura Hamilton, and John and Elizabeth Hamilton; ten bonus grandchildren; and eight bonus great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Joe, the mother of his children Pat, and their daughter Pam Robinson. The family would like to express their appreciation to Intrepid Hospice for their compassionate care givers. Professional care with dignity accompanied with personalized affection was a goal their staff achieved. An extra thanks to Melissa and our favorite dishwasher, Ashley, as together we completed the last chapter of Jim's life. A graveside funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 9, in Harrington Cemetery, Republic with Hosea Bilyeu officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
