Effie Jewel Rousset, nee Henson, of Ozark, passed away on June 23, 2022 at 90 years of age.
Jewel was born on July 3, 1931, to Jesse and Eula (Story) Henson of Portland, Tennessee.
Jewel was united in marriage to Marvin Ray Rousset on December 27, 1951.
In addition to her parents and five brothers, Jewel was preceeded in death by her husband, Ray and two sons, Jeremiah William Rousset and Thomas Lee Rousset. She is survived by two sons, Glenn J. (Margaret) Rousset of Fenton, Missouri, Timothy J. (Madelene) Rousset of Springfield, Missouri, one granddaughter, Carissa Jewel Rousset of Springfield, Missouri, and many other step-grandchildren and step-great -grandchildren.
Jewel was a member of the Ozark United Methodist Church.
After high school Jewel moved to Washington, D.C. and took a job with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It was in Washington that she met a handsome young marine named Ray and they were wed.
Jewel held many jobs while she and Ray raised a family. She retired from the Missouri Highway Department in Jefferson City before the couple moved to Ozark, Missouri.
In her golden years Jewel enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing computer games, playing the slots, gardening, watching old westerns and most of all spending time with her granddaughter Carissa.
A visitation will be Sunday evening June 26th, from 4 to 6 pm, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial with a small graveside service will be Monday, June 27th at 1:30 pm at Riverview Cemetery, Jefferson City, MO.
