Jerry J. Walker, age 44, of Nixa passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 in his home. He was born February 15, 1975 in West Covina, CA to Merritt and Rita (Davenport) Walker. Jerry was raised in the Springfield area.
Jerry went to mechanic trade school at Graph Vo-Tech School while attending Central High School. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks but chose commercial construction as his career. When Jerry became disabled, he started a recycling hobby in Nixa. He became known as Junkin' Jerry. He was doing his part to prevent items such as washers and dryers from going to the landfill.
Jerry enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He collected novelty cigarette lighters of all kinds.
Jerry is survived by his wife Jaccalyn, his children Denver Walker, his wife Crystal, of Nixa, Hunter Walker of Ozark and Addison Walker of Springfield; grandchildren Mia and Dixie Walker; siblings Dwayne Davenport, his wife Geneva, Paul Walker, April Feuerbron, her husband Ralph, Steven Lester and Jesse Lester; his parents Merritt and Rita Humphries; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by a stepmother Janet Lester.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
