Jerry Lee Stewart, age 72, of Highlandville, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011. He was born January 16, 1939, in Noel, the son of Johnny R. and Doris Louise (Patty) Stewart. On July 1, 1965, he and Sharon Lynne Shelfer were united in marriage. Jerry retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1972 after 20 years of service. He received a degree in electronics from Drury University. Jerry served as a Nixa Police Officer, and as a Christian County Deputy Sheriff. He also owned and operated a gas station and restaurant in Nixa. He was a member of the 65 Church in Spokane. Jerry was an avid fisherman and was a life member of the BASS Association. Survivors include: His wife, Lynn; three sons, Stephen Dean Stewart and wife Annie, Ozark, Jerry Lee Stewart Jr. and wife Shannon, Reeds Spring, and Michael Lynn Stewart, Highlandville; six grandchildren, Nicole Stewart, Stephen D. Stewart Jr, Shawna, Dakota, Colby, and Kiley Stewart; his mother, Doris Stewart, Nixa; a sister, Sue Scott and husband Bill, Nixa; two brothers, Dick Stewart and wife Barbara, Nixa, and Donald Stewart, Nixa; other relatives and many friends. His father, Johnny, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday, December 20, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Freddie McCoy officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Jones-Chastain Cemetery, south of Nixa. Visitation will be from 5:00 "� 7:00 PM Monday in the funeral home.
