Gerald Donald Kopas, age 87 of Hollister, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020. He was born August 30, 1932, the son of John and Dorothy (Ulicny) Kopas.
Gerald was born and raised in Wisconsin on a farm. He graduated from Boyceville High School where he met his wife Marjorie. In high school he played football.
On September 6, 1953 Gerald was united in marriage to Marjorie Pritchard.
Gerald worked at Laacke and Joys in Milwaukee, where he was top salesman. Gerald moved to Dallas and became Vice President of Sales at Horticulture Printers. Upon retirement, he and Marjorie moved to the Table Rock Lake area.
Gerald enjoyed fishing for crappie and walleye - often having fish fries with family and friends. Gerald loved his family and grandkids. He and Marjorie traveled extensively with friends. He enjoyed living in Hollister on the lake with his "million-dollar view."
Gerald attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nixa.
Survivors include: his wife, Marjorie Kopas of Hollister; two daughters, Brenda Wisemiller and husband Randy of Hurley and Ramona Steinhaus and husband Steve of Ozark; four grandchildren, Zachary Wisemiller and Ryan Kopas and wife Shai, Joseph and Madelyn Steinhaus; two brothers, Leonard Kopas and wife Barbara of Minnesota and John Kopas and wife Rieta of Minnesota; nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Dorothy Score and Judy Halverson.
A visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A second visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday March 6, 2020 in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Nixa. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. following the visitation in the church and is under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Reverend Jarod Koenig and Reverend Jeffrey Sippy officiating.
Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Nixa.
